The MHRA has introduced a new monthly safety bulletin, the MHRA Safety Roundup, as part of its three-year strategy to enhance safety communications. This initiative aims to make information about medicines and medical devices clearer and more accessible for healthcare professionals.

The MHRA Safety Roundup provides a concise summary of the latest safety advice for medicines, medical devices, and healthcare products regulated by the MHRA. This effort is part of our ongoing strategy to improve safety communications.
Each month, the bulletin will be distributed to subscribers and published online, offering a comprehensive overview of the MHRA safety alerts from the previous month. It includes updates such as Drug Safety Updates (DSUs), Device Safety Information (DSI), National Patient Safety Alerts, product recalls, medicines notifications, and any communications sent directly to healthcare professionals.
Additionally, the bulletin features a dedicated MHRA News section, highlighting key safety-related information on medicines, medical devices, and healthcare products that may be of interest to readers.
Safety Roundup Bulletin DetailsAt the end of every month, the MHRA will publish the Safety Roundup bulletin, which includes a summary of all safety alerts released since the last edition. The bulletin covers:
- Drug Safety Updates
- Device Safety Information
- National Patient Safety Alerts
- Recalls and Notifications
- Direct Healthcare Professional Communications
The monthly bulletin ensures stakeholders stay up-to-date with the latest MHRA safety alerts in a clear and digestible format. Each summary includes links to the full safety alerts and a QR code that, when scanned, provides access to the full alert for readers offline. A separate QR code is available for those wishing to subscribe to the bulletin.
The bulletin also includes a News Roundup, updating readers on safety-related news from the MHRA. This section may include information on new safety initiatives, ongoing projects, or updates to healthcare product information.
Please note that this Safety Roundup is a new initiative, launched in March 2025. Prior to this, the monthly summaries were titled “Letters and Medicines Recalls Sent to Healthcare Professionals in [Month, Year]” and were published on the MHRA Drug Safety Update page.
